Nandi County: Koitalel7s Makes Its First Debut
Just the other day I witnessed my Rugby National teal lift the country flag high by being able to represent us in ended World Rugby HSBC series at Canada dubbed the #Vancouver7s. The patriotic adrenaline ran down my whole body as I cheared with all the vigour I had for the sport. We braced courageously through the first half with a draw but later on Fiji our opponents had an upper hand and luck on their side did win the finals.
That aside lemme get back to the real deal happening this weekend on the 17th in Nandi County making its first debut trial at the Nandi Bears Club.
Is this the next big thing in the rugby scene after #Eldoret7s. The name being derived from the famous Supreme Chief of the Nandi people, Koitalel Arap Samoie not only gives the residents of Nandi county and the Kalenjin community as a whole the sense of belonging but also plays a vital significant role in patent of the sport in the region.
Apart from athletics we have seen rugby as the second top most sport which put our country high in world record standings. This will be the second county in the rift to embrace the sport and change the perception that athletics dominates the region. This will not only also add to the various tournaments we have seen in the country but also diversify the activities it attracts.
As we wait for the weekend lets get in the mood to make some trys.
